Construction Site Accidents
Many people believe that a construction site is, by definition, a hazardous place to work, and that when they are injured there, they don’t have any legal recourse. Nothing could be further from the truth. Regardless of the risk of injury, all parties involved in a construction site, including the the property owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and machinery and equipment manufacturers and suppliers, have a responsibility to make that construction site as safe as possible. Many accidents can be prevented by maintaining strict safety standards, including adequate warnings of the hazards present, coordinating job safety, and ensuring compliance with all applicable State and Federal safety laws. Unfortunately, many times these practices are not followed. Often times, construction schedules are a priority, resulting in a compromise to safety by hiring inexperienced or unqualified crews. These compromises in safety can result in significant injuries.
